The breakfast was amazing! The service was incredible and the grounds are beautiful. We will definitely be back

Amazing resort with many activities! The resort is huge with multiple different areas for families with kids as well as for adults only. The service in general was very good, all the employees were extremely nice and helpful. Different activities were arranged daily from yoga to different excursions. The room was nice and quiet. The resort area and pools were also clean. Perfect for adults that doesn’t want to be around families with small children all the time but wants to enjoy the amenities of huge, versatile resort, as some of the pools and on side of the beach was adults only (12+ years).

The restaurants in the resort area were quite expensive and the service wasn’t always at the same level as elsewhere in the resort. For example, we visited the Thai restaurant Ta-Krai three times during our stay, and the service wasn’t very good. They got our orders wrong multiple times and waiting times were long. Two times out of three we ended up eating at different times as they brought wrong foods out. Once we didn’t even bother to correct the order as it had already taken an hour to even get the food. We noticed that the people around us had same problems.

A luxury retreat

JW Marriott was beautiful. Every detail attended to, the decor was lovely and it was very comfortable. The pool was gorgeous and beach location superb - the beach was so lovely to swim in, with warm turquoise water and white sand.

The on-site restaurants were extremely over priced and food not very good quality compared with alternatives outside the resort. We ended up having meals at Pam’s up the road which was fresh, delicious, cheap, and had a free shuttle to/from the resort.

Very Good

The hotel itself is absolutly beautyfull with wonderful gardens a beach to die for and huge pools. the staff is also absolut fantastic. We did not feel comfortable just for one point (insects in our room) and when we told the staff about that they allowed us to cancle the remaining nights which i am very thankful for. Thats why i still wanna give a good review.

Unfortunately with the lot of green there come a lot of insects. we had two insane huge coackroaches at night in the room. We foubd a 3. smaller one when we were about to check out. I understand it is tropical resort and some insects are there. If you dont mind them this is the hotel for you. As said before. the hotel team managed the situation perfect and let us check out with getting a refund for the remaining nights. but still it woukd have been better this never happend in the first place. If you scared of them or dont feel save sleeping with them in the room i recommend the le meridien khao lak which also belongs to the marriot group and has absolute spotless rooms.

Nice clean beach mostly devoid of broken coral. Swimming just outside the room balcony. Nice restaurants and great service throughout.

Very pleasant stay

Great resort with excellent facilities.

Was treated like a criminal upon checkin because there was an issue with my bank or so the staff alleged. The staff did not show any empathy or compassion, simply demanding immediate payment. They acted very unprofessionally and without any remorse. After waiting for over an hour it was determined the issue was with Marriott's bank not mine. Not a very pleasant experience to be treated like a criminal and no apology was forthcoming. It was really the very forceful attitude shown by staff that was the issue, trying to blame me when it was all their problem.

Wonderful beach resort, which had surprisingly come of age, since I first stayed there in 2011....

I was very happy that we were able to check in already shortly after 9 AM, after we arrived from the Naiyang Beach area of Phuket, which we were pleased to finally leave after a "quarantine light" program under the Phuket Sandbox Regulations. I first stayed at this Marriott facility in 2011---when it looked quite new and spotless to me---and then I came back in 2014 for the 10th anniversary of the tsunami which completely devasted the "Sofitel Magic Lagoon", at the site of which the new Marriott facility had been built. Our deluxe room is large and comfortable and we enjoyed the large balcony with lounge chairs which were perfect for relaxing during the evening hours. The Hotel Staff was kind and helpful although we felt a bit annoyed at times over the Covid19 rituals imposed by Public Health in Thailand, which the hotel staff was, of course, compelled to enforce, in order to meet the SHA+ standard, according to which the hotel had to be certified for the purpose of accommodating tourists, foreign and domestic ones..... I was quite surprised to see signs of age at the exterior of the building, affecting the condition of the building walls, the roof tiles and the wooden beams, which clearly showed signs of deterioration.....In the face of competition with newer hotels, the owners of similar resort facilities are almost compelled to refurbish their main buildings and auxiliary facilities on a regular basis, in order to still attract a steady flow of vacationers Due to the limited number of guests, there was no breakfast buffet, but the staff at the breakfast restaurant handed us a breakfast menu, with a fairly large selection of 'a la carte' breakfast items.

Although the TV program included many international channels, I was kind of surprised that my favorite international news channel (CNN) was not included

Excellent facilities within the spacious low rise hotel. Great breakfast buffet.

My WiFi kept dropping out while in room, didnt do this around pool or beach area.

WOW!

The resort is beachfront and the beach area was very clean, pristine with crystal clear water. The resort was very big and spread out, well maintained and very green and lush. And the Pools (feels like many of them!) are running around the resort like a waterpark with lazy river. Main pool was huge. Amazing!

It’s a very nice property, room in which we stayed was newly renovated and really beautiful and cozy Checking in with a Thai alien with blue eyes, not a very first good impression but overall staff is very nice and helpful Location is great to my view, very peaceful and quiet Massage at Spa was excellent Check out fast and efficient

No more salmon for breakfast... times of crisis for JW too. Bar tenders at beach bar always seem in a panic, it’s funny 10 minutes but it becomes annoying after a while Food is overall average - nowhere near to what it used to be before Covid, real improvements are needed here.

A very rejuvenating stay ...

Sitting on the beach and looking at the turquoise Andaman was therapy itself. The breakfast was amazing with staff so eager to please, the beach bar is nicely setup and as chill as it can be. Making a 'walking tour' of the endless poolscape is in itself a wonderful exercise. The housekeeping tidies up the room each time we leave for a meal, so we return to nicely made-up bed and folded towels, a real nice touch that we appreciated.

The location can be a little challenge if you arrive after dark, however, most good resorts are well hidden to be fair.
